Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to Be Unveiled at Blue Back Square

Two charging stations to be installed for electric car owners

Newington, CT- July 20, 2011- Connecticut Electric Car, a newly formed division of Newington Electric Company and one of the first electric car charging station companies in the State has installed two General Electric Level II electric car charging stations at Blue Back Square, West Hartford, CT.  Connecticut Electric Car plans to unveil the charging stations at a ceremony on July 22, 2011, at 8:00 AM.

Connecticut Electric Car (a division of Newington Electric Company) owner, Ed Ingalls, said electric cars are becoming very popular in Connecticut. Ingalls said he plans on working closely with the State of Connecticut Northeast Utilities And Municipalities throughout CT. Ingalls personally plans on working with Home owners, commercial and retail customers that are interested in installing charging stations. Ingalls said this could be a HUGE sales draw for some establishments as more and more electric car owners look for places to charge their vehicles the average electric car can go approximately 40-50 miles on a full charge making it a perfect around-town car at a cost of $1.50 - $ 2.00 for a full charge. That’s quite economical.

Ingalls said that the two most popular electric cars are the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt.

Ingalls said both home owners and commercial establishments are taking advantage of huge government tax rebates available now with the government paying 30% of the installation cost. Ingalls said their phones are busy. Ingalls is betting that as more and more electric cars come to market more retail establishments will be installing electric car charging stations for their customers.
